Borough of State College, State College, PA
In the spring of 2023, Highland Holding Group proposed a land development plan to the Borough of State College (home of Penn State University) on a .9-acre parcel at 224 South Allen Street. The proposed plans describe a 160-room hotel with a multi-level parking garage of over 170 parking stalls.
The building's 27,000 square feet footprint includes a ground floor level indoor/outdoor event space that will accommodate over 200 seated guests. The outdoor space will wrap-around the existing Jeramar building in a U-shape, with controlled access onto Allen Street.
The rooftop will house a bar with views of downtown State College and outdoor access.
The proposed facade includes sections of vertical elements that will help screen the garage. These reddish/brownish elements will be stacked vertically and are reminiscent of organic elements.
