PennTerra Engineering was a member of the design team selected for the Pasquerilla Spiritual Center located on the Penn State University Park Campus in 2000. The project involved the addition of a new 23,000 S.F. multi-denominational worship facility on to the existing Eisenhower Chapel building. Challenging site aspects included maintaining the wooded character of the site while interfacing the new structure and associated utilities with the existing building. To minimize the impact of the new development, an underground stormwater management system was designed and utility services pedestrian routes to the building were carefully planned out. Coordination with the lead architect and the university’s project manager was a key component to the successful design. Construction was completed and dedication of the facility occurred in 2003.
