After 50 years, Toftrees Golf Resort is ready for a complete redesign. The current conference center, 102-room hotel, golf pro shop, and restaurant space will undergo $50 million in improvements that include demolition and total reconstruction. The upgrade is slated to generate over 130 new, full-time jobs ($7 million in annual employee wage compensation); the construction phase is estimated to generate another 400 temporary jobs and over $26 million in labor wages.
PennTerra Engineering's long track record of work in the Toftrees Planned Community continues with the new Toftrees Golf Resort project. Once completed, the independently operated, luxury facility is expected to join Marriott's Autograph Collection and become a national destination for golf enthusiasts, leisure, and business conferences.
The 180-acre site's new building is being constructed with both the clientele and environment in mind. The new hotel's 150 plus luxury rooms, on-site spa, restaurant, and golf pro shop will occupy a footprint of approximately 55,000 square feet and rise five stories high. This upward, denser approach allows for more useable green space and better stormwater management practices.
To improve vehicular safety, a new access point from Toftrees Avenue will serve as the main entrance.
Outside the building, PennTerra's land development plans outline stormwater management, over 450 parking stalls, utilities, and lighting. PennTerra's grading plans will be the foundation for much of the outdoor attractions, such as the new pool, expanded courtyards, fountains, and event lawns.
