State College, PA

Originally opened in 1931, The Nittany Lion Inn has welcomed generations of students, parents, alumni, and visitors. Dubbed "Penn State's Living Room," the inn has hosted famous figures such as former First Lady Eleanor Roosevelt, President Dwight D. Eisenhower, poet Robert Frost, musician Louis Armstrong, and actor Danny DeVito.  The storied inn is now famous in its own right and appears on the list of Historic Hotels of America.

After beginning a facilities review in 2017, the Pennsylvania State University finalized a land-lease deal in March of 2023 with the Scholar Hotel Group (SHG).  SHG is led by Penn State alum, Gary Brandeis, who plans to invest $10 million in renovations to the 3.27-acre property.

PennTerra Engineering is excited to join the team that will be restoring the Nittany Lion Inn to its glory!
