This three-acre site is located on the eastern border of the Borough of State College, providing a premier location for tenants and convenience for patrons. Creekside Plaza's 17,000 square feet of commercial space with ample parking is currently fully leased and home to local businesses like Rothrock Coffee, PYP Studio, the Simply Health Salt Spa, and Pietro Hair Salon, as well as nationally recognized brands like Subway and Honeybaked Ham.
With Slab Cabin Creek flowing behind the property, special attention was given to the stormwater management plan, as well the erosion and soil sedimentation controls. Per PennTerra Engineering's riparian zone improvement zone plan, the landscaping plan included a variety of plantings that would thrive in an environment of wet soil. Black willow cuttings were also planned along the bank to repair existing erosion and prevent future erosion.
Our team also designed the overall site layout, lighting plan, utility plan, and was on-hand for construction period services. Located along the North Atherton Street corridor (State Route 3014), we also worked closely with the Pennsylvania Department of Transportation to reconfigure the intersection, traffic light, and entry point to the site.
